There are 2 famous satay celup in Melaka, one of them is Ban Lee Siang. Even at Ban Lee Siang, there are 2 restaurant with the same name. They are sister shop with different bosses. I normally go to the Left one. During weekend, especially during dinner time, the queue is shocking, people will stand beside you, watching you eat as they are waiting for your seat. I do dislike this feeling, but the boss are unable to do anything about it. Satay celup is basically food skew in satay stick, and cook in a satay gravy. There are a variety of food available in Ban Lee Siang, which include vege, cheese dog, quill egg, all sort of balls, yao char guai, bread. The gravy are basically some secret recipes of the owner, but there are sesame seeds, peanut, herbs, and others. Similar to steamboat, but different in soup base. I would like to recommend to order a plate of bread. I like how the bread suck up all the gravy, and become soggy, the bread is a little sweet, and go well with the strong gravy. The other skews are ok, normal taste. The seafood are very fresh too, I like the prawn here, they are peeled nicely. Cook with the gravy, the taste is enhanced.
