What is a trip to Sekinchan if without seafood indulgence? :D After some quick exploration during the hot sunny day, we soon settled down at this humble restaurant at the neighbor for some delish seafood spread. Definitely we are not going to miss out the mantis prawn for it is one of the signature food over here. We are awed the moment it greets us for the prawn is real huge! Never before I saw any kind like this back in KL and is much cheaper here. So, needless to say, we enjoy satisfactorily :P The mantis prawn is actually stir-fried with black pepper under high flame to help infuse the pepper fragrance into the meat. The meat of mantis prawn is actually pretty coarser texture, compared with the smoother meat of usual prawns. Besides that, you might want to get more adventurous by trying the local sea snails. It is of course bit intimidating to me, but still I have tried out and the meat is actually very chewy and rather bland, if not accompanied by any sauce. Else, you could go for the safer fare like the Hokkien Char, that comes with thick silky noodle, Fried Mee Hoon or the fried UFO, a.k.a fish dumpling :D. Guess I enjoy the last two fares more :P Haha….
