When comes to dining at Korean food, I usually would go for their specialty, so as to fully immersed myself into their rich culture. As it is still the early evening, we decided to go for a healthier high tea then :D Here we have the Korean Shik Hye drink. This beverage actually resembles the Rice Nectar drink that I enjoy lots at Oiso. It is sweet and refreshing with some little white rice grains as well, since the cold drink is made from rice. Some light flavour of ginger is also present that helps to zeal up this sweet rice punch! Slurps! Another nice candidate to accompany along a nice spread of Korean cuisine is this Oksusu Cha. This is pretty common and normally known as Korean corn tea, that is made from boiled roasted corn kernels. Therefore, you might taste some smokiness sensation in the drink occasionally. It is not sweet but able to tantalise your tastebud with the subtle fragrance of the corn. Lighter in colour and also aids in food digestion. No wonder it’s traditionally known as a good remedy for many illness such as for those with high blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney issue. In addition, there is another tea that I find it really enjoyable and you too, should try; Maehwa cha or literally known as plum tea. It has got the really refreshing aftertaste; with mild citrusy of the plum amidst the natural sweetness of the fruit. It would be one of the best companion when you are feasting on meaty this as this tea could help you clear your throat better and the best part is, the tea itself has a very soothing floral aroma, with some cherry-like touches. I have also heard that dark-colored tea is good in helping getting rid of fats from the body, sounds good right? Loving it!
