Cik Mek Molek | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Cik Mek Molek

I never know this local delight actually origins from Kelantan till one day I stumble upon it. It was a normal late afternoon where I would usually crave for some tit bits or snacks. The shape of this kueh is pretty decently rolled out in a decent size. Looks bit like curry puff but not exactly the same case. The owner later share with me that this particular delight is called Cik Mek Molek (if I enunciate it correctly), which is made of tapioca. As am a fan of sweet potatoes or any tuber food alike, so I give it a go. Apparently, the texture is quite soft and slight chewy where you could actually taste some of the tapioca bites in the dough. Wrapping within is some candied crystal that is used to compliment this otherwise plainer taste kueh. It’s deep fried and thank god, it’s not too oily, but I would still prefer to use some tissue to absorb the extra fat :D
