Asam Laksa | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Asam Laksa

In the heart of Jonker Streets, there is this 1 shop which sell authentic Melaka Laksa and Curry Noodle. It is very easy to spot this restaurant, because of the crowd in front of the restaurant. This is one of the shop that is a must visit for my Melaka Food Hunt Trip. I ordered their signature, Asam laksa, curry laksa, and cendol. Asam Laksa- The taste is very real, sourish spicy. There are crispy fried Fu Zuk, egg, nyonya bunga kantan, vege, and noodle. The crispy FU Zuk is my favourite. It is crispy, and soaked it into the soup for a while, and the soup simply explode in you mouth. The soup is very fragrant, hot, and sourish. Curry Laksa- The major different between asam laksa is curry laksa used some coconut milk, and curry powder in it. It is more mild and creamy. The curry flavor is strong and the ingredient is same with the laksa, except for the Tao Bok, it is cooked with the curry, making it soft and juicy. The flavor is concentrated in it. Cendol- I choose the durian cendol. compare to the normal cendol, there is a scoop of durian paste with it. This desert is quite nice though, very chilling and cool. It is overly sweet for me, and the sweetness is from the gula melaka, sweet and strong coconut smell. The durian paste really shine in this desert. It is a real durian paste, as there are chunk of durian fresh in it.
