Steamed Egg | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Steamed Egg

I didn’t know that there is such wonderful Chinese restaurant nearby my office before this. Thanks to the bunch of friend who brought me to here the other day. Although am not too sure what is the English name for this fish, one thing that am glad is that the fish is really fresh. The fish meat is soft and chunky big. We enjoyed this steamed method with generous portion of julienned ginger and parsley, not forgetting some spicy kick from the bird's eye chili pepper, or fondly known as cili padi too. Just take it with the soya-like gravy, and it’s good to go with a plate of white rice. Delicious! Fried Salted Squid Actually first to arrive our table is this tantalizing Fried Salted Squid. Initially, I thought it’s just a normal fried squid till when am biting into the crispy fritters, there is a tinge of eggy aroma. At that instance, I recognize the familiar taste belongs to salted egg. It’s really nice, not too salty and most importantly, crunchy and thus additive! But be moderate on it as too much would spoil your healthy diet :P Marmite Chicken This fare is quite nice too. From its appearance, it resembles ‘Pai Kuat Wong’, or Chinese Porky Ribs, which usually comes in sweet and sour flavor. However, this version of cooking with marmite sauce isn’t too bad. The gravy actually makes the meat much more tender and succulent, with some layer of sugar-coating on the exterior of the meat. I wonder is some malt sugar has been added to it. Anyway, the skin still remain a decent crispiness although it’s drenched with the sauce. Yummy! Stir-fried Sweet Potato Leaves I was given the privilege to choose one of my favourite dish, and so Stir-fried Sweet Potato Leaves it is! But it arrived pretty surprising to use for this greens seems much more gigantic than the normal shoot we have, or rather we expected. Luckily, our nightmare of chewing on old stems doesn’t realize for this shoots are actually pretty soft and tender. I wonder is it of different species for it totally looks different to me, hehe. Best of all, it’s not too oily as well. Great! Steamed Egg I guess this dish would go easy for most people. It’s steamed egg that also includes century egg inside it. Although am not a big fan of century egg, this combination with the usual egg somehow balance off the unique taste of the century egg and it’s actually quite nice to be enjoyed. It’s smooth and silky by the way.
