Garoupa Fish Curry | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Garoupa Fish Curry

Garoupa Fish Curry Sometime, it’s best to balance my heavy appetite for western food with the Oriental one, hehe. This claypot of curry is quite delish and good to go with a bowl of white rice. The gravy is savory and not too spicy. Fish meat is considered fresh and chunky. But one thing that I enjoy most is the generous addition of vegetables. There are lots of brinjals, long beans, cabbage, bean curd and etcetera. Considered a good dish. Nam Yu Fried Chicken This variety of fried chicken is done with marinade of Nam Yue, or better known as fermented tofu, but it’s red in color. This cheap and easily available stock makes a good marinate for its distinctive flavor. After the chicken meat are deep fried with the fermented tofu, it creates an aromatic taste with the outside skin is crispy but the meat within, are still juicy. It’s just that, from the appearance, it might look bit dark, so I can’t distinguish when they are actually scorched or not, and could be bit oily too. Three Treasures This dish comes with three main ingredients, namely, fish, prawn and squid. All these fresh catch are being pan-fried earlier before are mixed to be tossed in the thick gravy. The gravy tastes great and also slightly milkier as heave portion of coconut milk has been added to it. It somehow does overpower the freshness of the seafood. Nevertheless, still make a decent fare. Stir-fried tapioca shoot This is one of my favorite dish too. Stir-fried young tapioca shoots are not only nice to eat, but also a good source of fibre. It’s fragrantly stir-fried with slices of pungent garlic, with some extra oil, which I appreciate if it could be lesser next round :D The leafy greens is nice to chew and delicious, not too salty luckily. Just that I couldn’t relate why some slices of carrots have been added to it, hmm..
