Deep fried fish | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Deep fried fish

Despite being in Malaysia where the majority of the populations are Malay, there are not much Malay restaurants around when it comes to Malay cuisine. Most authentic Malay cuisine is either fusion, or really pricy. I have always said that the best local food is always on the street but not many stalls on the street accommodate the many choices and variety of authentic Malay dishes. The Malay dishes are uniquely different at their own way. Some of which uses ingredients not commonly used in other types of cuisine. Those are what that is making them so distinctive. Mostly have a lot of chili and herbs in it and hence making the Malay dishes often very flavourful. My favourite is the clever use of lemak (coconut milk) in their dishes and especially when cooked with the young nangka (jackfruit). The best place for good Malay food with a fair amount of choices in a fairly comfortable ambience with allocated parking bays would be inside the malls, usually the food court. My latest discoveries would be the AEON food court in Sunway pyramid. Apart from the many other choices of food type, this one definitely stands out and was really appealing to me. the colours of the dishes is not only gorgeously appetizing, it would blow you away with the spiciness in their chili dishes.
