Yik Mun in Tanjung Malim, Perak. Yik Mun is famous with the pau and simple Hainanese food to the local. It is also a popular spot for tourists who stopped by for a cuppa or simple food before heading to the north. Located at the corner shop lot on Jalan Slim River, Tanjung Malim, Yik Mun has been certified halal, and now serves mostly Malay dishes. We reach too early, and it is only open at 9am. They only start to prepared the food after the shop is open!! So if you really want to try the pau here, my advised is come after 9.30am. The most popular dish is the Chicken Curry Pau. But honestly it is such a disappointing dish. Nothing to shout out and not delicious at all. Anywhere the Signature Roti Kahwin ( Toast with butter and kaya) is great. Crispy and Crunchy and the Kaya is so flavourful. We also order the Otah-otah and Satah from a stall outside the shop. Very obvious the Otah-otah is frozen one while the Satah tasted better. The drinks is even more SUCK!! The water got some odd taste while I think they only put a lot a lot of milk to make it look like a drink. My glass of Neslo is without anh Nescafe or Milo taste at all. The shop is rated "B" for their hygienic standard. But if you ask me, I will rated it less than B. We use to wait for about 1 hour to wait for them to open the shop, mop the floor, prepared the thing..and I can said it is totally no worth waiting. If you ask me, I sure won't come back again. To take note that THIS IS ALL BASE ON MY PERSONAL OPINION.
