Jiang Su biscuit



Jiang Su biscuit This is one of my favourite pastry since childhood time. I might be influenced by my late vegan grandmother or I actually, really enjoy such simple bakery but it is nice in its own way. The biscuit is much larger back in those time, where it could actually cover up your face! No pun intended by the way for I really have it when I was young with my grandma :D But it has since been transformed into a more humble size, approximately the size of our palm. The biscuit if freshly baked, is soft and contains some moderate sweetness in it. Fret not, it is not like a piece of hard flour thingy as it may seems, but bit porous in the middle and goes well with a cup of tea or coffee. For those who enjoy buttery kind of pastry skin, am pretty sure you would enjoy this Jiang Su biscuit too :D
