Gurney Drive Food Village is located at Level 3, Viva Home, Cheras, same level with the MBO cinema. It is named after the Gurney Drive, Penang famous for their local street food. Gurney Drive Food Village is a big food center, spacious and clean environment with olden days Penang kopitiam feel. They are offering a wide range of Penang street food, local delights and international cuisine as well. Ho Chiak Popiah (Kiosk No. 6) is specialized in preparing delicious popiahs. These popiahs are freshly made upon order. Three type of popiahs available here are Crispy Popiah, Vegetable Salad Popiah and Vegetable Sushi Hand Roll, price at RM5.50 for 2 rolls. I have ordered 2 rolls of Crispy Popiah. A thin popiah skin being wrapped with its tasty ingredients, shredded cooked sengkuang or turnip, shredded carrots, lettuce, fried onions, roasted peanuts, crispy fried stuff and chili sauce. It requires some skills for wrapping and nicely cut the popiah into pieces without tearing the thin popiah skin. Popiah is a delightful snack and taste wonderful with the combination of juicy sweet turnip and crunchy crispy stuff fillings.
