Apart from Chung Wah Chicken Rice Ball, Hoe Kee which located few shop apart is also famous with its chicken rice ball. I went there during the weekend and it was a long queue. The boss was very nice, and polite. We were seated after 20+ minutes. We had their famous chicken rice and Asam Pedas Fish. Chicken- The boss was so nice, he top up some chicken organ for us for free. The chicken was very soft and tender, but slightly moist. It is ok for me though, as the moisture is the chicken soup which are very sweet and flavorful. I like the organ the most, they are chewy crunchy. Rice- They served 2 type of rice, which are the rice ball and normal rice. Chicken rice is a bit compact and moist, and very flavorful. whereas the normal one, it is a bit dry, and the taste is still flavorful, with the garlic and chicken soup. The normal rice is a a bit more yellowish compared to the balls. Asam Pedas Fish- This is highly recommended dish. Maybe because I like sourish spicy dish, this asam pedas is really nice. The fish is fresh, and the gravy is full with flavor. It is a bit oily, more like a typical nyonya asam pedas, but it is ok for me. I like the few long bean that come with the fish, they are cooked but still have the crunch. The fish is quite big, hence the meat is very thick. It is seafoodly-sweet as the fish is fresh.
