Khoon Kee is an old shop selling wan ton Noodle. Situated in the heart of Petaling Streets, it is known by many tourist and local people. The wan ton noodle are self made, so as the wanton. I was told that it is the 3rd generation running the business now and the grandfather is still around the restaurant to help out, what a legacy. I had normal WanTon Noodle, which come with a soup of wanton. Noodle- The noodle are self produced by the restaurant. The texture is chewy and very full with wheat and egg fragrant. It is soak in hot water and cooled down in cold water after cook. This step help to stop the cooking mechanism and to prevent over-cooking of the noodle, and making the noodle chewy. The black sauce mixture used is very special. They are fragrant, and I think they used pork oil also, so as the noodle do not stick together, and add in some flavor to the wanton noodle. Soup- there are only 3 piece of wanton in the soup, very not enough for me, as the filling is very nice. The meat used is fresh, and the soup is sweet. The sweetness is not from the MSG, but It is from essence some bones. Dumpling Soup- Since I favor the filling so much, I like to order extra dumpling. It is different from the wanton, the filling is much more than wan ton. The taste is as nice as wanton so as the soup.
