It actually takes us about an hour before we finally found this café at Subang Jaya. Since both of us hail from Cheras, so this area seems to be more challenging than what we have thought, hehe. Well, upon walking in, we saw spacious environment with nice and bold red chairs. It’s quite comfortable and drinks are served pretty fast. Too bad, their lemon tea isn’t as good as it should be. It seems like the lemon has just been added to a tea drink for the tea taste is much stronger and bitter, not nicely blended :( Original Hainanese Chicken Chop We went to try their signature Hainanese Chicken Chop. It looks different from the normal Western chicken chop that we have for the latter tends to be drier and much crispier. As for this Hainanese style, the chicken is fried as well, but remains much tender and then drenched with the inhouse special gravy. The gravy is indeed pretty unique on its own. It’s quite mild where it’s not too salty nor too savory. It is said to be eaten with steamed bread, as a true Hainanese style, so the gravy would be absorbed and enjoyed heartily with the rest of the tender meat. A good new trial :D Nasi Lemak with Halua Chicken (Fragrant rice, sambal ikan bilis, , peanut, egg, and cucumber. I guess it’s akin to our early supper when we ordered this fare, for it’s already nearly 930 pm by the time we have it :D The rice smells fragrant with the coconut milk used, suitable to be paired with stronger flavoured food such as halua chicken which is bit sweet but not spicy, crispy sambal ikan bilis with peanut, egg, and cucumber. It’s bit heavy if taken alone. ABC We actually wanted to try ABC and also cendol, but were told the latter has been sold out, so ended with two bowls of ABC instead. This bowl of dessert served here came a bit bland, without the stripes of cendol and merely just some beans, corns and syrup alike. It’s bit too sweet to my liking and lack the fragrance of gula Melaka. Quite a let down :(
