Papadum | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Papadum

I have been passing by this eatery with curiosity for quite some time now. Finally, am making my maiden step into this store for another gastronomical exploration; Moghul cuisine, in this case :D The serene environment with pewter ornaments got me mesmerized the moment I saw it. It was totally different from what you would see from the exterior of the restaurant. Apparently, this soft-colored corner was meant for VIP. But we were lucky as that day it wasn’t that crowded due to our early arrival. I really enjoyed the warm ambience:D Perhaps pink color could just melt any lass’ heart easily, hehe. So we started off with some appetizer I guess, called Papadum. It’s some kind of thin and crispy Indian chips made of lentils, black grain, chickpeas and rice four. This cracker is usually served as an accompaniment to Indian meal and could be eaten as an appetizer in this case. It bears some saltiness which is then balanced off with the greenish topping, which I yet to figure out, hehe. The dipping is quite dilute and minty amidst some piquancy. I would say it’s quite appetizing though :D Nawab Set This set meal includes assorted dishes of legumes, meat, potatoes, vegetables, dahls and also rice. Bet you must be wondering where are the greens…hehe… Yeap, this time round they aren’t in green suit but bit reddish as they are braised in Indian spices. The morsels on the left are actually the cauliflower cooked in savoury gravy. It isn’t too spicy and best paired with plain white rice. The dahls actually resembles the common taste of those dipping that come with roti canai. You may also enjoy the dishes with Naan Bread or even Garlic Naan like us :D Nasi Beriyani Set I personally enjoy this menu very much. Each grain of rice is fully infused with the fragrance of Biryani spices that makes it so awesomely delish! It is also served with fried hard-boiled egg on the top and also paired with the in house relish, which is very toothsome and appetising! You may also occasionally find bites of capsicum in it and also some chicken cutlets.
