Chicken Pop Corn Ramen

Here another calling for Doraemon's fan...D'Dream Cafe, a Doraemon Concept Cafe now open at SS2, PJ. Located same row with CIMB Bank and Korean House, the tiny cafe really amazing. The wide collection of Doraemon's stuff really fanstatic. Too bad, its not for sale (:-(. For the foodwise, nothing to shout out. Here serve simple Taiwanese Street Food and Snack. Tasted normal and price range still consider ok judge from the SS2 area. Personally I prefer they serve more dessert. The owner and staff is friendly. He say every night also full house so if come in big group, please call for booking. You can search their address on FB. Oyah....they lock the door due to the safety matter but they do not have door bell!!! So just knock the glass door if noone open the door for you ;-)

Jang Gun, or Shogun & Saisaki Japanese Buffet Restaurant were basically under the same merchandiser, Dato' Sri Michael Chong. Jang Gun, is kind of Korean Buffet Restaurant yet do served Japanese meal as well. Well, I categorized it as Korean & Japanese Buffet Restaurant. There are varieties food served in the restaurant, no matter fried, cook, soup, uncooked and so forth. Food: Let's talk about their food. No matter either Korean food or Japanese food, it has been arranged accordingly for customer to choose from. Their sushi were my favourite food among all, although the rice of the sushi taste dry. I think the optimum supplement with sushi always belongs to the combination of soy sauce and wasabi, thus I am disappointed to comment that their soy sauce was not impress me, it was salty while the wasabi cannot melt evenly with the sauce. For the other fried food, for instance fried long bean, fried soft shell crab, it was too tough to bite, perhaps it has been place at the air for certain period of time. Environment : This restaurant provides a comfortable and quiet environment for diners to having their meals and spending their time over here like nobody's business. Huge square feet of this restaurant provides sufficient seats for diners even if during peak hour, diners are still able to have their seat with no doubt. Desserts : I don't find any interesting dessert from this restaurant, until the owner of this restaurant told that they have a special dessert that we could not find at anywhere else. It's called "squzeeit". It seems like a "egg" that we usually can grab it at pasar malam, nonetheless, the staff here was managed to massage the "egg" which made me stun for few seconds. Until I touched the "egg", it is rubber type of container which stores the milky flavor of ice cream into it. Once it has been cut, you must try your best to suck it or else the cream will amazingly keep coming out. There are variety of favourites to choose from. Overall : 7/10

Hot Plate Tofu with Preserved ‘Cai Xin’and Minced Pork | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Hot Plate Tofu with Preserved ‘Cai Xin’and Minced Pork

Stewed Pork Belly served with Lotus Bun 招牌扣肉包 (RM4.90 per piece) Paradise Inn certainly know what's best for their patrons where pork belly can only be right with the fatty part. Just gobble this tender and fatty layered pork belly that has been simmered for hours, sandwiched in soft Chinese bun along with lettuce and embrace as it moves down to the throat from your tongue. A must-have for pork lover. Coffee Pork Ribs 咖啡排骨王 (RM20.90 small) Though we Malaysians might not heard of this interesting combination of coffee and pork ribs, this dish is pretty common in Singapore. Thanks to the Paradise Group, which was originated from Singapore to include this unique dish in Paradise Inn menu. I would say whoever that have come up with this combination is a pure genius. Slices of pork ribs being deep-fried and coated in the coffee-based sweet sauce: maintaining the fragrance of coffee but not the bitterness. Odd, but perfect. Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns in Wasabi Mayo Sauce 青芥末虾球 (RM29.90 small) Another dish that would take lots of effort in preparation: removal of intestinal vein, crisp fried the prawn to curl into pretty ball shape, coated with wasabi mayo sauce and garnished with fish roes. I personally prefer prawn with intestinal vein removed as it's much more comforting to know that I'm not eating the prawn's waste and it could also be affecting the overall taste. The usage of wasabi in this dish was minimal, just enough to stimulate the nasal passage and clear its way for prawn and mayo flavor. One of my favorites for that night. Steamed Minced Pork with Water Chestnut and Salted Egg Yolk 手剁马蹄咸蛋蒸肉饼 (RM18.90) A simple dish made perfect with blending of minced water chestnut and mince pork for extra texture and full moon-like rolled out salted egg yolk for enhanced taste.

I always see that there are many people at Kheong Kee. It original is a small place, about 1~2 months ago, they moved to the opposite shop. It is large and a corner shop. The environment is clean and bright, but it's a little hot. Their bak kut teh is really nice. The soup is properly cooked with Chinese herbal medicines. I like to add with some Enoki mushroom, it's chewable and tasty. Next, I would like to recommend this Tauhu with spring onion. The tauhu is soft and smooth, dipped with the spring onion sauce, it is really fantastic! Must try...

Caesar Salad | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Caesar Salad

A mix of Australia style between cowboy and tribal, decorated with koala bear and lots of roosters. As the theme suggests, it's not hard to notice the cowboys (wearing the iconic hat) taking orders and even serving food. Gold Coast Pork Schnitzel RM15 Garlic pork fillet pan fried served with ratatouille sauce on a bed of tomato rice While ratatouille literally means stewed vegetable dish and schnitzel is a boneless meat that fried along with flour, beaten eggs and bread crumbs, they've made a perfect combination of crisp and moist. As a pork lover, I'm glad to see this on the menu because of its porky taste but I doubt its meat texture for such kind of fried steak as it might go very dry and ended up munching shoe leather. This schnitzel had no such problem, but it could be very risky in the wrong hand. Quarter Outback Roast Chicken RM17.90 in Herbs Bread Sauce with German Potato Salad, Caesar Salad and Onion Rings as side dishes. It was good: chicken was tender, caesar salad done right with fresh romaine lettuce and crunchy crouton, skin potato salad with onion, crispy yet not too oily onion rings and even a bed of potato with herbs beneath the roasted chicken to absorb the remaining essence. Perhaps a wee bit more seasoning to make this dish a memorable one? Also, it would be better to have more side dish varieties for those who do not fond of potato.

There is no air-cond, so the weather is a little hot. You can try their War Dan Hor, it tastes quite good and fragrant! Sweet & sour fish rice is not bad. They fried with a piece of fish and topped with sweet sauce. Hainanese chicken rice is normal, just like the usual chicken rice at Chinese kopitiam. Hot plate yee mee is normal. In fact, I don't like the sauce personally, and the chicken is rigid.

Signature Mochi with Taro Ice Cream | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

Signature Mochi with Taro Ice Cream

This is another brand of the mushrooming dessert business nowadays at most of the major malls such as Pavillion KL. This Meet Fresh outlet is strategically located at the centre court of the sixth floor. Decked with roundish cosy coach, with the nice view from the top towards to Lower Ground Concourse stage, it is a nice place that allows us to rest our sinew after a hectic day. Just before I call it a day after work, I decided to drop by for a bowl of chilling dessert. I picked the Signature Mochi with Taro Ice Cream, as recommended by the staff, before this menu ceased starting 6th of August. There is this promotion on Mochi On Board that is set to run for a month to pique the interest of new and regular patrons. Signature Mochi with Taro Ice Cream Indeed, the jelly that is laid on top of the blended ice bed, is really silky and flavourful! It has got the intense aroma of the nice tea whilst being really elastic, unlike the usual jelly stripes. Coming alongside is the chewy mochi balls which are in small cubes. They are a fun and joy to have, with the creamy yam ice cream that is specially imported from Taiwan. The ice cream is quite smooth and comes with pleasant aroma of yam too. Should you need more milkiness, you could add in the accompanied cream to spice up the dessert a little more :D Seems like there is another good alternative other than taro balls :D

pumpkin soup

Having said this many times and still standing by to the conclusion about these fusion restaurants is that whenever they start to gain some bit of popularity, they started localizing themselves. The ingredients for some of the western or fusion dishes are replaced with the similar kind in Malaysia and by doing so really deteriorate the quality of the dish itself. Even when not looking at sophisticated dishes, simple things like the mash potatoes can be quite a mess for them as well. The problem at this and some of the many other fusion restaurants is that they try so hard to manage so many dishes, both western and asian. In order to offer the extension of varieties on their menu, they need to have all ingredients ready in case there is a order at the kitchen. But what happens when no one ordered what’s prepared, or when something is not the best seller at the restaurant. When it is not a common dish to order, the chances is high that the ingredients would have been kept for quite a while already. So the lesson I adapted from this is to go for the common dishes many people would order. That way, at least the food is still in good form of taste and shape. I had a horrible experience when dining at the station one usj outlet and vowed never returning to it. It must be fate cause I had to visit the station one in damansara the next day. I guess these fusion chains already established their reputation so well whenever there is one in any enclave, it would be the popular meeting point. I stand firm on my verdict after ordering the same thing I always ordered. The chicken was dry and almost loosing the flavour of chicken and the mashed potato is really sourish. At least the mushroom soup is much better than the one in usj. The pumpkin soup would be the joke of the day as it did not taste pumpkin to me at all. More like a mix of remaining pumpkin soup that is insufficient in amount to be served being topped to the amount to be served with some of their soup of the day or some sort. Blindfold me and I won’t be able to tell if there is pumpkin in it.

smoked salmon sushi | JoinMe - Food Review Malaysia

smoked salmon sushi

Sushi king is lack lot s of varieties when compared to many other chains but maintains their quality pretty well .My all time favourite has got to be their salmon slices. They are always fresh and delicious. The all time favourite for almost all children is always the chawamunshi. Soft and smooth in texture and the most pleasant thing about this is the steaming hot texture that is so comfortable. Comfy smooth and delicious with the mild fragrant of shitake mushroom, as well as artificial crab stick. Most importantly, it has to serve fresh and all the sushi would taste almost close to perfect. The chain outlet has similar layout and design while the cleanliness really depends on the management of that particular outlet. Some that I have visited is sparkling clean where else some is really messy when in hands of mostly foreign worker. This outlet here is still not too bad while the space is good enough for comfortable dining.

When catching for movie in the one utama recently, friend decided to take a quick bite at the Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. My first question is if that is a fusion restaurant. They assure me it is not, even though they have few western dishes on it. Then I recalled that the Wong Kok Char Chan Teng is one of those Hong Kong café with the cheese bake rice and noodle menu made popular in town by the Kim Gary. That is when I realized that I have not been to one for a long time already. And since it is so near to the cinema, so I give in and proceeded to the what seems like a narror shop form the entrance but gave me quite a startle to see the huge spaces behind what was not seen from the outside. The shop cleverly uses a shade of grey and darker tone for the calming and soothing ambiance. There are natural light form the glass panel and the dishes are still good like how I remembered them from when I last visited one of their branch somewhere else. The rice in soup is amazingly good. With ingredients vouched to be fresh and good after the first bite. It was sweet with some light pieces of coriander in it while the baked cheese spaghetti was slightly underwhelming than the rice soup, I am guessing it would be better with rice instead of pasta. The corn soup was not too bad but lack a little corn flavour in it.

english breakfast tea

Hutted within many plumeria plants, sunlight travelling through the gaps of leaves and beautiful frangipani flowers tenderly lights this place till evening right before dusk. The hot stuffs include very few ingredients crafting into several breakfast dishes. The Hearty Breakfast sells at RM 17.90 and comprises of chicken sausages, hash brown, scrambled eggs with mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans served with homemade toast. The House Egg Ben comes with a choice of double or single serving both priced at RM 17.90 and RM 12.90 respectively. The poached eggs are ordinary but when topping with their signature Hollandaise sauce, tasted better on top of the sautéed potato cubes and fresh salad served by side. The pull factor is the thick toast which is admirable although I would prefer smoked salmon over the slice of ham between the egg and toast. The fluffy Omelette filed with feta cheese and sautéed mushrooms, served wit homemade toast and fresh salads sells at RM 11.90 and is fantastic especially when fresh mushrooms instead of canned are used. Thumbs up for that.
